Okay y’all, in light of the fact that Celiac Disease affects around 1 in 133 Americans and Gluten Intolerance affects nearly 1 in 20 Americans, it isn’t too surprising there are quite a few Gluten-Free celebrities and athletes. Today, we’re going to look into a couple of the best known people dealing with Celiac Disease or a Gluten Intolerance. I’ll count it down over the next couple weeks from 10 to 1, and will delineate whether or not they deal with an intolerance or Celiac Disease.
10) Zooey Deschanel
In addition to allergies to dairy and eggs, Zooey is also allergic to wheat. Some of Zooey’s claims to fame are starring in the TV show The New Girl, where “she gets special meals delivered to her trailer because she doesn’t want her cast and crew to have to eat all her “weird foods.” and as Jovie in the Christmas movie Elf. She’s also the younger sister of actress Emily Deschanel from the crime show Bones.
