Summer makes Gluten Free Easy!!!

I LOVE the Farmer’s Market, but y’all know that already! 😉

We have been loving our local farmer’s market this summer, and are enjoying the bounty of available produce! And with the bounty of produce, comes a plethora of Gluten Free Deliciousness! Such as our FAVORITE summer meal . . . corn and tomatoes.

We get fresh corn from the farmer’s market, as well as the tomatoes. Then, once we return home, we get everything ready and serve the meal.

What you see above is the beautiful array of tomatoes we purchased. Our favorite varieties have been: Empire, Lemon Boy, and Striped German.

I love all of these great naturally, gluten free options, and am thoroughly enjoying the expansive selection of summer food options!

What are y’all’s favorite summer vegetables? Let me know in the comments below!

Have a wonderful day, y’all!

Summer = Tomatoes . . . right?

In case you’ve missed it, I have a minor obsession with fresh produce, and while it may just be me . . . nothing says summer quite like a Tomato Sandwich because sometimes the simpler the meal the better. Anyways, if you’ve never made a tomato sandwich, here’s what you do:

Take a fresh tomato, and slice it thinly:

Then, sprinkle your tomato with salt and pepper.

Next, toast two slices of your favorite Gluten Free Bread (I used Canyon Bakehouse), then spread a thin layer of Miracle Whip on your bread, and layer three or four tomato slices inside. Once you cut your sandwich in half, it should look something like this:

What are y’all’s favorite summer foods? Do you like tomato sandwiches, or do you prefer something different? Let me know in the comments!! 🙂

Have a Terrific Thursday y’all!

Spiced Chai Milkshake!

I love chai tea, but it’s a struggle all through the summer to find ways to drink it chilled. I mean, iced chai is only tasty so many times. So, I tried something new today, and it turned out SUPER tasty!! 🙂

spiced chaiI’m calling it a Spiced Chai Milkshake, but it’s a bit thinner than your regular milkshake. More like a frappuccino in all honesty. Anyways . . . here’s how to make one.

Ingredients:

  • 1 or 2 teabags of your favorite chai tea. (I used one bag of Tazo Chai Pumpkin Spice)
  • 8 oz boiling water
  • 1/2 cup vanilla almond milk
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream

Now, to make it!!

  1. Pour your boiling water into a glass measuring cup and add in a teabag or two (depending on how strong you want your chai)
  2. Once tea has steeped (3-5 minutes) add in cinnamon, vanilla, and almond milk. Allow to cool in fridge for at least an hour.
  3. After your tea is cool, put your ice cream in a blender along with the tea.
  4. Blend until it’s creamy. Pour into a glass (or mason jar) sprinkle with cinnamon, and add a straw!
  5. Enjoy!

That’s it! Hope y’all enjoy! If you try it, let me know in the comments!! 🙂

Have a Tremendous Tuesday!
