Marilyn’s Gluten Free Gourmet . . . an update!!

I wrote about Marilyn’s Gluten Free Gourmet awhile back, and showed y’all how to make their Bubble Bread! Well, the other day I made dinner rolls with their Rosemary and Sea Salt Bubble Bread Mix by following the directions on their website. (scroll down a ways) IMG_4007All you do is preheat your oven to 350º, grease a cookie sheet, and make your Bubble Bread Mix according to the instructions (I used Club Soda). Use an ice cream scoop to place dollops of dough on to your pan. Bake for 15 minutes. IMG_4008My ice cream scoop is a bit on the large side, so I ended up with 11 rolls opposed to the 15 mentioned in the recipe on their site!IMG_4015They ended up as very pretty dinner rolls (see above) and they were quite tasty as well!

I was quite impressed by how easy it was to use the mix for rolls, and plan on trying this again soon with another carbonated beverage and the plain bubble bread mix. If I do try it, I’ll be sure to update y’all on how it works out! 🙂

Have a wonderful day y’all!!

Just call me a Sunbutter Addict.

A couple weeks before the GFAF Expo in April I picked up a jar of Sunbutter while at Kroger because I’d gotten sick of peanut butter, and almond butter wasn’t on sale (at eight bucks I jar, I don’t normally buy it full priceY’all! I had no idea how much I’d love it! It’s super tasty, and has fabulous flavor. It’s great with crackers, in a SunButter and jelly sandwich, or in a grilled SunButter and banana sandwich with a side salad. Like this: IMG_4033If you head on over to the SunButter website, there is a free recipe book available to give you some ideas on ways to use SunButter. I’m looking forward to trying the recipes for Amazing Thai Chicken and Broccoli on page 12 or the SunButter Sunny Chow on page 14.

As if I didn’t love SunButter enough already, the super sweet folks we met at the GFAF expo sealed the deal, and the cute sunflower pen they gave me didn’t hurt my adoration of their company. I love their product SO very much. 🙂 IMG_4053Anyways . . . I love SunButter. It’s really delicious, and I plan to buy it regularly from now on.

Have a wonderful day y’all!

Rudi’s Gluten Free Bakery Cinnamon Raisin Bread

While at the GFAF Expo I got tons of coupons for different Gluten Free products. Including $1.25 off of any Rudi’s Bakery Product. Since I had heard awesome things about their Cinnamon Raisin Bread, I decided I’d try it for myself!! 🙂

I’ve tried it with a couple different toppings (peanut butter, butter, and raspberry jam) and this bread tasted yummy with all three. It’s a bit denser than what I’m used to with my “normal” but it was delicious nonetheless. I’ve toasted it each time I’ve used it because I prefer Cinnamon Raisin Toast, but with as soft as this bread is . . . I can’t imagine it wouldn’t be just as tasty straight out of the bag!

IMG_4020I think this bread is delicious, and will definitely purchase this product again. If you’re in the market for Gluten Free Cinnamon Raisin Bread, you should definitely try this one!! It’s super tasty!

Have y’all tried any Rudi’s products? If so. . . let me know what your favorite product is in the comments below!

As usual . . . this product recommendation is entirely my opinion. The product recommended within this post was purchased by me, and I’m only mentioning it on the blog because I sincerely like the product (as in may or may not have had three pieces today. . . oops!)

Have a Marvelous Monday y’all!! I’m going to go crawl back in bed to play Words With Friends as allergies and the beginnings of a sinus infection are throwing me for a loop today.

See y’all back here tomorrow!!

Bare Belly Organics . . . a review!

As promised the other day . . . I give you the: Bare Belly Organics Review!

Bare Belly Organics is a company out of Kennesaw, GA that makes gluten free mineral sunscreen, lip balm, and various skincare products. All without any of the nine chemicals approved by the FDA as effective sunscreens that are also endocrine disruptors and can cause a plethora of unsavory side effects.

Their sunscreen is available in multiple forms: cream, face sticks, and body sticks. As well as a line of baby sunscreen. They have other products such as lotion, bug repellent, and lip balms.

The sweet ladies who own the company gave me a few products to try and review for y’all at the GFAF Expo, but all opinions expressed throughout this post are mine alone:

Their sunscreen looks a bit different once applied then your average sunscreen, and to show y’all how to apply it properly . . .  I made a short little video for y’all:

Here are my thoughts on everything I tried:

The sunscreen is absolutely fantastic. It has a pleasant scent, and no weird sticky feeling once applied. Additionally, it has really great protection. I’m so pale that my mama jokingly calls me Casper on a regular basis, and even after an afternoon spent outside, I’m not burnt at all. I just reapplied the sunscreen every two hours, and Voila! No lobster skin.

Now, because of the fact that their products are chemical-free, they may soften if exposed to heat, but thankfully, it shouldn’t impede the effectiveness of the product!

Onto the next portion of our three part review:

The face stick is fantastic. It works really well, and I’ve worn it under my makeup for the past week as an extra layer of protection for my skin. It doesn’t even feel like I’m wearing sunscreen, which is a huge perk! 🙂 It also has a pleasant odor, because of essential oils added in to the formula.

Last but not least, let us discuss the lip balm!

I received the vanilla in my products to review, and purchased an orange one while at the expo. After testing both of them over the past couple weeks, I can tell you that they’re amazing. I may even be swayed away from my love of eos for Bare Belly Organics lip balm. It is that awesome. Smooth and moisturizing. I honestly don’t have any complaints.

Overall, I’m incredibly impressed with everything I had the chance to try from Bare Belly Organics, and look forward to trying more of their products in the future! I’d totally recommend them to y’all, and will purchase products from the company in the future.

Have a Stupendous Saturday y’all!!

Bare Belly Organics (an upcoming review)

I had fantastic plans to do an in depth review on Bare Belly Organics along with an awesome video outdoors today in order to show y’all how well their sunscreen works, but the weather decided to be uncooperative with grey skies and rain. Boo! So, hopefully the weather will cooperate tomorrow and look a little bit like this:

Then, I’ll be able to do that review for y’all!! 🙂

Hoping for sunny skies tomorrow, and that y’all have had a wonderful day!

Nona Lim . . . a review!

IMG_3691

As promised yesterday . . . today will be a review for Nona Lim broth and noodles!

Nona Lim’s goal is to make simply delicious, convenient whole foods. They use clean, responsibly sourced ingredients to ensure that the very best tasting products end up on your table. Best of all, their products are made from scratch in using real ingredients.

They encourage you to be creative with their products, and add in your favorite veggies. I added in some spinach, fresh cilantro, two baby portobello mushrooms, some coconut oil, rice vinegar, and a splash of soy sauce. Which resulted in this:

IMG_3698

Preparation was super simple. All you have to do is blanch the Laksa Noodles and add them into the Miso Ramen Broth along with your other ingredients, then heat everything together until it’s all uniformly hot.

The texture of the Laksa Noodles was good. They didn’t get mushy during cooking, or anything of the sort. I even left it all together to store overnight, and they still weren’t mushy.

The noodles and miso broth were really tasty overall. I really enjoyed the combination I created with the broth and veggies, and the noodles complemented it all really well.

Overall, I was very impressed with everything I tried from Nona Lim, and am hoping to find more of their products in a store near me soon. 🙂

Have an awesome day y’all!!

Marilyn’s Gluten Free Gourmet Bubble Bread Mix . . . a review!

I’m SO excited to share this product with y’all today! I met Marilyn at the GFAF Expo. What a great lady! She was super sweet, and she gave me TWO different mixes to review for y’all here on the blog. Today I’ll be reviewing the Original Bubble Bread Mix, and sometime soon I’ll be reviewing the Rosemary and Sea Salt Bubble Bread Mix for y’all as well!

The picture you see below is the completed loaf of bubble bread next to the packaging.
IMG_3667

This bread is SUPER simple to make. In fact, it would be an awesome way to introduce your little ones to gluten free baking.

It’s made using a really interesting, yet simple process. So I decided to make a quick little video showing y’all how I made mine today! 🙂

In case y’all missed any of that . . . all you have to do is:

  1. Pour your mix into a bowl.
  2. Add in an egg or your choice of egg substitute.
  3. Pour in 12 oz of a carbonated beverage of your choice. Use an entire can if you have one. The taste will change if you use a flavored beverage like root beer, gluten free beer, or fruit-flavored soda.
  4. Stir until smooth.
  5. Pour into a pan.
  6. Bake for an hour.
  7. Slather with butter or coconut oil.
  8. Allow the bread to cool, slice, and serve!

As I said in the video, I’ll be doing a review of the bread here on the blog today, so . . . let’s dive right in!

IMG_3665

Price: Though mine was free, I did investigate the price for y’all. It is $6.99 per package — which while a bit pricier than a loaf of Gluten Free Bread; it’s well worth the investment in order to have the experience of making it at least once! 🙂

Texture: Awesome! It’s moist and has a really great crust on it, with a soft interior. It’s not crumbly, and holds together impeccably well (a characteristic uncommonly found in Homemade Gluten Free Bread in my experience) which is fantastic!

Taste: The most important factor, right? Well, this Bubble Bread does not disappoint. It’s a sweeter bread and is tasty with jam, and tea more than likely. 😉 I really liked the flavor of it, and I am looking forward to seeing what else pairs well with it!

IMG_3672

Overall: I love this product. It was incredibly simple to make. It tastes fantastic, and it isn’t outrageously priced at all! Makes Marilyn’s Bubble Bread a winner in my book!

Thanks to American Gra-Frutti and Marilyn’s Gluten Free Gourmet for allowing me to review your product! It was splendid!

Have a Stupendous Saturday, y’all!

Love,

Olivia
