Upcoming Gluten Free Products!

So, after my brief sabbatical due to illness . . . I have returned to the blogosphere to share some AWESOME news with y’all!!

There’s a new cereal coming to join the Gluten Free Community, y’all!! Do you recognize the cereal in the picture below?

That’s right . . . Lucky Charms are going Gluten Free!! đŸ™‚

Let’s be honest though, we all are WAY more excited about these:

Than the actual cereal. Lol.

If you want to read more of the logistics, read General Mills official announcement here.

According to the announcement, they will be available labelled Gluten Free by September, which I find quite exciting, because Lucky Charms are always fun on occasion.

Quick and Easy Gluten Free Dinner Idea

IMG_4341Want dinner on the table in about 15 minutes? Well, grab a pack of LiveGfree Cheese Ravioli from Aldi (they’re on sale to clear out extra stock from the special buy) and follow the instructions, while your water is boiling, pour a jar of pasta sauce (I used Classico) into a pan to warm. About five minutes into cooking your raviolis, throw a bag of steamable asparagus (I used Season’s Choice from Aldi) into the microwave and cook according to directions. Serve your ravioli with your sauce, and a side of asparagus. It turns out rather pretty. See:IMG_4347And from the side:IMG_4348Hope this helps y’all find an easy dinner to add into your meal plan for the week!

What are some quick Gluten Free dinners y’all love? Let me know in the comments!!

Have a Wonderful Wednesday, y’all!

Crab Salad (a recipe!)

Today I’m going to share a recipe with y’all for Crab Salad!photo 2-3Typically, any recipe with imitation crab is totally off limits because imitation crab regularly has wheat or other glutinous fillers, but there is a company that makes Gluten Free imitation crab which is what I used to make this recipe!

This recipe is perfect for a spread with crackers (I served it with Aldi LiveGfree Crackers) like you see below, or on a sandwich like you see above which is composed of half of an Udi’s Plain Bagel, Crab Dip, 1 Sliced Cherry Tomato, 4 rings of Banana Pepper, and some Kale!

photo 1-3

To make your Crab Salad, you will need:

  • 6 ounces Gluten Free imitation crab, chopped (I pulsed it in my food processor a few times.)
  • 8 ounces (1 brick) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

Throw everything in your food processor, and pulse until combined. Transfer into a bowl, and chill for about two hours. Serve with crackers, fresh veggies, or use as a spread!

As usual, all products mentioned in this post were purchased by me, I’m just sharing them with y’all because I truly like them.

Have a Marvelous Monday y’all!!

Just call me a Sunbutter Addict.

A couple weeks before the GFAF Expo in April I picked up a jar of Sunbutter while at Kroger because I’d gotten sick of peanut butter, and almond butter wasn’t on sale (at eight bucks I jar, I don’t normally buy it full price) Y’all! I had no idea how much I’d love it! It’s super tasty, and has fabulous flavor. It’s great with crackers, in a SunButter and jelly sandwich, or in a grilled SunButter and banana sandwich with a side salad. Like this: IMG_4033If you head on over to the SunButter website, there is a free recipe book available to give you some ideas on ways to use SunButter. I’m looking forward to trying the recipes for Amazing Thai Chicken and Broccoli on page 12 or the SunButter Sunny Chow on page 14.

As if I didn’t love SunButter enough already, the super sweet folks we met at the GFAF expo sealed the deal, and the cute sunflower pen they gave me didn’t hurt my adoration of their company. I love their product SO very much. đŸ™‚Â IMG_4053Anyways . . . I love SunButter. It’s really delicious, and I plan to buy it regularly from now on.

Have a wonderful day y’all!

Rudi’s Gluten Free Bakery Cinnamon Raisin Bread

While at the GFAF Expo I got tons of coupons for different Gluten Free products. Including $1.25 off of any Rudi’s Bakery Product. Since I had heard awesome things about their Cinnamon Raisin Bread, I decided I’d try it for myself!! đŸ™‚Â

I’ve tried it with a couple different toppings (peanut butter, butter, and raspberry jam) and this bread tasted yummy with all three. It’s a bit denser than what I’m used to with my “normal” but it was delicious nonetheless. I’ve toasted it each time I’ve used it because I prefer Cinnamon Raisin Toast, but with as soft as this bread is . . . I can’t imagine it wouldn’t be just as tasty straight out of the bag!

IMG_4020I think this bread is delicious, and will definitely purchase this product again. If you’re in the market for Gluten Free Cinnamon Raisin Bread, you should definitely try this one!! It’s super tasty!

Have y’all tried any Rudi’s products? If so. . . let me know what your favorite product is in the comments below!

As usual . . . this product recommendation is entirely my opinion. The product recommended within this post was purchased by me, and I’m only mentioning it on the blog because I sincerely like the product (as in may or may not have had three pieces today. . . oops!)

Have a Marvelous Monday y’all!! I’m going to go crawl back in bed to play Words With Friends as allergies and the beginnings of a sinus infection are throwing me for a loop today.

See y’all back here tomorrow!!

Target Deals Alert!

While running errands today I popped into Target . . . cause I’m addicted, and was in need of um AIR.

While shopping, I stumbled upon a couple items on clearance, and thought I’d share them with y’all! It couldn’t hurt to check your store too, am I right? đŸ˜‰

First off, we’ve got Rice Vinegar, which apparently was initially free, and is now only $0.98! That’s a $13.06 savings on the Amazon price!! đŸ˜€IMG_4003Also at Target today . . . their Simply Balanced Gluten Free Corn and Rice Penne Pasta was on sale for $1.81 opposed to it’s regular price of $2.59 which means you’ll save a whopping . . . $0.78!  Who are we kidding though? Gluten Free Pasta under $2 is a HUGE win!! đŸ™‚IMG_4004Be sure to let me know if y’all find these Gluten Free Deals (or any others really) in the comments!!

Aldi LiveGfree Chocolate Cake Mix Review!

Today I’ll be reviewing Aldi’s LiveGfree Chocolate Cake Mix! It’s part of the Special Buy from last week, but it should be in your store until it runs out of inventory! The packaging looks like this:

IMG_3852

My sister made it into cupcakes with fresh strawberry frosting . . . so tasty! I think they turned out absolutely lovely! đŸ™‚IMG_3964Onto our review!!

Texture: Texturally, these are awesome. Perfectly moist and fluffy, almost to a fault because the fall apart quite easily if kept room temperature. We found that letting the sit in the fridge for a little while helped a lot!!

IMG_3959

Price: $2.99 which is pretty great when you consider it was supposed to make 12 cupcakes, and made 22 cupcakes, and it is a little more than a dollar savings in comparison to what’s available at Walmart. So, that’s always a perk! đŸ™‚

Flavor: Fantastic. Really chocolatey without being overpowering. Also, the taste is consistent throughout the cake. The addition of strawberry frosting created a really tasty flavor profile for the cupcake overall! đŸ™‚

IMG_3963

Overall: This was an awesome cake mix with great texture, flavor, and value. I really liked it, and am planning to go stock up on some before my local Aldi runs out of these special buy mixes!

IMG_3961

Have y’all tried any of these special buy LiveGfree products? If so, let me know what you tried, and how you liked it in the comments!

Have a Tremendous Thursday!!

NoGii . . . a review!

After my post on protein popsicles, nogii offered to send me some products to review, which I gladly agreed to! Here’s what they sent me: IMG_3829

Onto the reviews . . . đŸ™‚

I’m going to group the review by the type of bar today:

Paleo Bars:

These remind me of Larabars. Minimal ingredients, great flavor, and fantastic for on the go. I’ve had them for breakfast a couple times this week, and they’re all super tasty! My favorite was the Nuts About Berries. It tastes awesome, and the flavors are really well balanced!

Protein D’Lites:

This was awesome. They make a fantastic snack, and are perfect for if you need a quick jolt of protein. Plus, they’re really tasty!

High Protein Bars:

These are awesome as meal substitutes. In fact, I went to Rome yesterday and had one for lunch while we were running errands and picking strawberries. The Chocolate Coconut one is tastiest in my opinion, but the Chocolate Mint one is fantastic too. Especially, when made into Chocolate Mint Protein cookies . . . like this:

IMG_3940Which I’ll share the recipe for . . . tomorrow! So check back in for that!

Overall:

All the nogii bars I got to try were really tasty, and I would definitely purchase them to have on hand for a quick breakfast or snack!

Have y’all tried nogii bars? What is your favorite flavor? Let me know in the comments!!

Have an awesome day y’all!!

Olivia
